Congratulations to Mike Gomba, RWJ Fitness & Wellness Center’s Personal Trainer of the Month for December 2016!
Trainer Michael recognizes life is short, and best spent with a heart full of laughter and a smile. He helps members accomplish this through the benefits of fitness. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from East Stroudsburg University. Michael is a certified athletic trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association. He is CPR certified through the American Heart Association.
Through internships at high schools and universities, Michael worked with athletes to help prevent and manage injuries. As an athletic trainer, he succeeded at his goal to have injured athletes return to play as soon as possible. As a personal trainer, Michael focuses on improving functional strength and cardio endurance. His programs include training the core for balance and stability. Regardless of his clients’ goals, Michael’s fitness sessions always work toward an improved quality-of-life.
He is a diehard Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. Michael believes few things in life are as enjoyable as relaxing with a great movie. He loves to watch TV, spend time outdoors, take photographs, spend time with family and friends, and get lost in an interesting book. In high-school, he was on the basketball and baseball teams, including the 2008 State Champion team in baseball during his senior year. Michael also likes to bowl and make people laugh (although not necessarily simultaneously).
Fun fact: Michael was the athletic trainer at Burlington County Institute of Technology, Medford when the basketball team reached the state finals.
In a world where so much is beyond control, Michael strives to help members take charge of their health through effective fitness programs.
