She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal arts from New York University, and a Master of Arts degree in holistic health studies from Georgian Court University. Her master’s thesis, which involved a research study on Group Fitness class participation and spirituality, is being reviewed for publication. Barbara is certified by the American Council on Exercise and the World Instructor Training Schools. She holds numerous other certifications and licenses.
Barbara spent 15 years as a Tax Reporting and Compliance Director for a Wall Street firm. In 2003, she retired from that position as the result of a serious car accident. After taking time to heal, she resumed her Group Fitness teaching career where she was fulfilled by instructing a variety of classes.
Her mission is to nurture a Group Fitness program that extends beyond demonstration of proper physical movement. She and her staff strive to foster a connection among students and instructors, where fitness goals are reached in a supportive, fun environment.
When not sharing encouragement and talent at the Center or attending fitness conferences, Barbara enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and rescued pets.
