I’ve been training with Mon for a little over two years. He is an extraordinary trainer: professional, dedicated, enthusiastic, and fun. I always hated exercise. Remarkably, I keep coming back to the Center for training sessions with Mon because I know it’s doing me good–mentally and physically. In fact, I actually look forward to working out with Mon. Last year, I had arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder. The outcome was not as I hoped. However, Mon helped me strengthen my shoulder and increase my range-of-motion. He encourages me to set challenging goals. He cajoles, encourages, and coaches me to accomplish them. Then, we set new goals that are even tougher! Mon also helps me with my new venture in ballroom dancing. Ballroom dancing (even my somewhat crude version of it) requires good posture, core strength, balance, and coordination– all of which Mon helps me achieve. I am fortunate he is my trainer.

Lori has been an outstanding trainer. She always asks about our previous sessions, including my body’s response and any issues or concerns I may have. This allows her to more effectively customize my future workouts. Lori always is enthusiastic and encouraging. Each fitness session is different so I’m never bored. She is very creative, continuously adapting the program to meet my needs, especially if I am struggling with an injury. She seeks my input and listens carefully to my responses. Lori is amazing. More important than the specific exercise goals we set, I have learned the healthiest way to move my body when doing every day tasks. Lisa is absolutely the best personal trainer I ever have worked with. Whether you are looking to run a marathon or slim down, trying just to improve your strength or your overall health, Lisa has the background and commitment to help you succeed. I rapidly improved my strength, flexibility, balance, speed, and core stabilization with her innovative training techniques. I have never gotten results like this from any other trainer. I credit this to Lisa’s understanding of the science of personal training as well as the science of motivation. She is very caring and attentive to my training needs. She is thoroughly prepared at every session. Lisa loves to celebrate your victories, whether they are on the Fitness Floor, at a racing event, or in life. I give her my highest rating. I will happily continue to train with her to meet my personal goal of running an Ironman triathlon in the fall.

For the past several years, I wanted to walk the Ravenel Bridge in Charleston, SC, which is five miles back and forth. In June, I shared this goal with Amy. She told me to start by walking five miles, which I did. She instructed me to add an incline (11 percent at its highest), which I did. Each week, I walked the five miles, adding the incline. However, I never did it in less than 90 minutes. On August 25, two months short of my 61st birthday, I was able to walk the five miles in my fastest time of 80 minutes! I am so glad Amy was able to help me reach my goal. I don’t think I could have done it without her advice and encouragement.

After having surgery on my neck last year, I joined the Center to rebuild strength and flexibility. Initially, I was working with another trainer but then chose to work with Tony. After our first session, he explained things about functionality that my physical therapist and others had not. His fitness routines utilize the whole body to assure balance. The personalized attention Tony gives me has been well worth the investment. I am confident with Tony as my trainer. He listens and often asks for feedback. He gauges my fatigue level and knows exactly how far to challenge me without overdoing it. He helps me stay focused, and keeps workouts interesting by varying the exercises. After six months, my upper-body strength has increased a great deal. My muscle tone improved and I even lost a few inches in my waistline. I continue to work with Tony and look forward to our sessions.
